Woahink Lake
South of Florence, off Highway 101
Woahink Lake lies just south of Florence, a long clear basin held back behind the dunes. It is deep for a coastal lake and fed largely by springs, which is why the water reads green-blue and stays cold well into summer. The north end carries most of the traffic: a paved boat ramp, a float plane base, and a launch off Canary Road where trailers and paddleboards go in. Anglers work the drop-offs for trout and bass, and on a still morning the lake is clear enough to see bottom in the shallows. The east shore is the quiet side. A soft trail runs through shore pine and rhododendron from the East Woahink day use, past the summer houses, and reaches the water in a handful of places. Come early; by midday the wind is up and the glass is gone.
